BEFORE YOU START
DRIVERS LICENCE
Before you can start driving you will need to obtain a
Provisional Driving Licence, which is issued by the Driver
and Vehicle Licensing Agency - the DVLA. An application form
D1 can be obtained from your local Post Office.
You must be at least 17 years of age to drive, however you may
apply for your licence up to three months prior to your 17th
birthday.
If you are receiving Disability Living Allowence you are allowed
to start driving at 16 years of age.
EYESIGHT
You must be able to read a car number plate from a distance of
20.5 metres, which is approximately 5 car lengths. Please
ensure you can meet the required standard before booking any
lessons.
