THE THEORY TEST

The Theory Test for car drivers is split into two parts - the Muliple Choice quiz and the Hazard Perception Test.

The Muliple Choice quiz consists of 50 questions. You are given 57 minutes to complete the test and to pass the test you will need to correctly answer 43 questions out of the 50.

The Hazard Perception Test is 14 video clips, each lasting about one minute long. In each clip there will be numerous potential hazards, however one of these will materialise into an actual hazard.During each clip you must click your mouse each time you see a potential hazard. You will obtain your score from the particular potential hazard that devlops into an actual hazard. The score you obtain will depend on how quickly you spot the potential hazard as it develops into an actual hazard. There are 15 actual hazards in total, therefore at least one per clip.
The maximum score available is 75, to pass the Hazard Perception Test you will need a minimum score of 44.
The computer software has an " anti cheat" system and will only allow a certain amount of clicks per clip.  Further to that it also searches for any regular pattern of clicks or a short burst of rapid clicks.

It is advisable to have numerous practice goes on the Hazard Perception Test prior to doing the actual test. If you wish to do so a  Theory & Hazard Perception Test Study pack is available - for more information please contact me
